*Reminder

Posts with a * are based on true occurences, but not everything is fact. Those that are indeed factual may be exaggarated to a certain extent. It is advisable to not believe everything and read the posts purely for fun, laughter, peace and joy. Seriously.

*The Unproductive Harvest

Moral- The principles of right or wrong behaviour that are generally accepted by society, or a set of values that one thinks may be right, and not the law. Whatever the description, a certain subset of Sunwayians could not bother too much, given that their Moral Studies had given them problems of all sorts, and not morals as the subject title suggested.

Angie Flo, Diane Shine, John Bow, Sanya Dival and Sue Anne were in the same Moral Studies group, and had been handed a project a few weeks back, one with the intention of inculcating some moral values in them by benefiting charity. This project- a futsal tournament termed "Harvest Cup"- had been deemed "unimportant" initially, due to the massive workload of the other core subjects that the students had to stress on. But try as they may, they could not avoid it forever, the day that their project was to materialise looming closer than ever. And it led to a frenzied last minute meeting, the first John had ever attended, in which the the various tasks and roles were administered to the group members. With everything in place, everyone prepared themselves for the project, the idea of waking up early on a weekend a major put-off.

Nick Ivans and Hans Basil were the lucky ones not to be involved with the Moral project, but John's insistance of their support meant they were not so lucky after all, though they did not have to arise at an ungodly hour like the rest. With the sun casting potentially dangerous rays on Sunway, the involved students reached the location punctually, and after the routine briefing and instructions, they set out for their respective tasks, only they were not as taxing as first thought, with almost everyone feeling relaxed. John's role as security turned bystander, Angie continued her fine form as a vice-organisor, Sue failed to fulfill her wish of flashing the scorecards, although she flashed a moment of pure embarrassment, and Diane managed to assist in the prize-giving, along with being the centre of attention of the present hot-headed males. As for Sanya, she seemed contented keeping her mind on boys, from dreaming about Mango Mophead, to the recent reunion with her ex, and on to gushing about Lukas.

Hometown outsiders Nick and Hans arrived after the helpful trio of Sanya, Sue and Angie picked them up, and looked bemused at the supposed lack of fanfare or activity, coupled with the overall lethargic atmosphere of the whole event. Things became worse when the group was informed that their project had incurred a loss, and that each member faced the prospect of having to dig deep into their pockets to cover it. All the hard work, not only amounting to a failure, but also personal losses. Well, no one said that they would be the beneficiaries.

After the massively disappointing tournament, Hans, John, Nick, Sue, Angie, Aron and his grlfriend hit the nearby Summit Mall to take advantage of a three-hour promotion. Hans' meal was flamed when Aron's girlfriend playfully tapped his cap and subsequently eyed him through the mirror, without Aron's knowledge. While their gaze may be full of sparks, it was a recipe for an ultimate disaster, Hans risking the wrath of the muscular and protective Aron. An innocent conversation between Hans and Aron's girlfriend last year had lead to uncomfortable moments; this would definitely blow the roof.
Citing tiredness, John headed home instead of joining Nick, Hans, Sue and Angie for a movie, and surprisingly, Angie followed suit later on, her reasons vague. Hans felt something amiss to her strange u-turn, but decided not to press further, his gut feeling telling him that it was something he was already aware of. After the movie, the trio of Sue, Nick and Hans bumped into Diane's boyfriend, who shared a short conversation with them. Tension seemed to be coming off Nick. After all, rumours were rife that there was something going on between him and Diane. How scandoulous could this small town be?

Good and Bad news arrived simultaneously for Hans, as Shayne informed him off his desire to move into the former's room, sparing him the agony of the prospect of having to live with a stranger, but at the same time making him bereft of his desired privacy. While Hans welcomed the thought, he was not entirely elated, reasons being the bigger issues bugging him, one being the insomnia that had engulfed him, his 4 hours of sleep a day causing a strain on his mental and physical health. On the plus side, Diane, who was once seen as John's successor as Hans' confidante, had a personal conversation with him, the first in a very long time. As she laid bare the thoughts bothering her, Hans wondered how he kept getting into undesirable situations that did not even involve him.

Keeping true to their weekly routine, Nick, Hans, John and Sue paid a visit to AC, where Nick and John battled to reign supremacy and Sue and Hans battled to help Angie and her problems. Throughout the night, John seemed uncomfortable, perhaps wishing it was his hometown friends who were the ones he was with instead, highlighting the division that was growing by the day. And while the Hometowners stand united and merry, things appear to be cracking within the Outsiders, murmers of unhappiness causing chinks in the once solid armour, divisions within the faction becoming apparent. Nick made the strange decision to divert from his routine by joining John and Dan, and later rejected an outing with Hans, Sue and Thomas. Diane rejected dinner with Nick and Hans, joining Cheeze Kenzo and Theo Oscar instead. The unity and harmony that had personified the group had well and truly vanished, with 2 different friendships suffering yet another mishap for the umpteenth time. Two individuals from both different affected friendships decided that enough was enough, them, along with another, being the only ones aware of the true nature of the things presently occurring, breaking through the fog of lies to finally see the truth that had been shrouded for so long. Sunway looks set to be in turmoil, though only an unfortunate few would be able to feel it.

*The Eruption

It had occurred. The beginning that would signify the dark road ahead. The first bursts of lava had emanated from the silently building volcano, and common sense states that once a volcano erupts, it does not stop until the end. With the eruption already happening, it seems the weeks ahead are about to be very dark and extremely 'hot'.

As if God himself was giving a sign, the heavens had opened after days of dark clouds polluting Sunway's skies, directly depicting the atmosphere that had been growing around college. Amidst the darkness, there was a vestige of light, an eruption of a different kind. Sue Anne and Theo Oscar felt extremely pleased that their respective oral presentations were done and dusted, and like John Bow, they could ease the stress. For Hans Basil, the strange informaton recieved in the early morning struck him like a big yellow school bus, but it was good news nontheless- that his supposed roommate had moved out even before moving in due to accidental misleading information by his housemate, keeping his precious privacy intact. It was not all good for him though. Loud chatter from other rooms in his unit may be an irritant, but it also served to remind him of the good past, and the current boredom and loneliness that had enveloped his home.

It seems the dark side of Pat Riba aka The Pratibitch was further on the rise, this time picking on Hans and Sue unnecessarily. Previously, she had revealed an illogical side of her, blasting at innocent students who had asked questions, this despite she stimulating questions from them. While Sue's case was clearly illogical, Hans did himself no favours by blanking out and appearing as if he had not revised his work, fuelling Miss Pat's claims that he, along with many others, had slackened. And with her implementation of new policies- disallowance of entry for latecomers to regulate her classes, it seems her true side had emerged.

The sole decision that determines the future continued piling confusion among the MUFY students who ruminated about it incessently throughout the day- during class, while studying and during dinner. Hans and Sue found themselves stuck in the same situation, having to fulfill their parents wishes, but it was Hans who managed to sort out his predicament, only needing approval from his egoistic impermeable father. John Bow had planned his road, only for it to be blocked by a major untold detail, which could not be solved, leading him to the path of confusion. Angie Flo did not even plan for the campus or course selection, fearing that her results would not be good enough for entry requiements. As for Nick Ivans, he marked the path south, headed Down Under. Whether it was for the sake of his education or to escape the past turmoils of his personal life was unclear, but it seems his future would be headed down under as well, given the number of classes he had missed. And with the reception of a very demoralising piece of news, it seems things are going downhill for the boy with the face of a thousand impressions.

Hans' behaviour had been volatile of late- recent verbal blasts at Ash and Nick, and an sms assault on John testament to the personal volcano that had been growing inside him. However, it was the latest clash that signalled the eruption of the silent volcano that had pervaded the grounds of Sunway. Ash's version of fun was horribly misinterpreted by Hans, whose anger and fury escalated beyond the limits no one had witnessed before. Filled with rage, Hans searched out Ash, and gave him a hard kick and punch, along with vicious words dripping with poison, shocking everyone around them. John was among them, stunned to silence, unable to console Ash, but managing an attempt to cool off his fuming friend. The fight did not end there.
John had experienced the life of Hans outside college prior to the holidays, and this time he experienced his life in college after school, studying in the library along with Nick, Sue, Diane Shine and Angie. In the process of cramming economic words into their heads and fooling around, Hans received a vicious sms from Sanya, who had heard of Ash's treatment. The sms was an attack that was not only aimed at him though, but at Angie too. It seems history was repeating itself, just like old times. Angie became tired of the disputes, while Hans was mad at the perpetual involvement of Sanya, who had completely accused Angie and Hans despite not knowing the truth. With Sanya deciding to exclude herself from the duo, one wonders if the lava would stop flowing, or if it would create more cause for destruction.

Thunderstorms were an accurate reflection of the ongoing events happening in and around Sunway, and it just gets worse. The Great Hometown Divide was on the rise. It was apparent during a rare dinner, where past the past act of joining of tables was eradicated, replaced with separate seatings of tables, the Hometowners on one, the rest on another. The usual weekend trip to AC had subsided, reduced to different outings. The Hometowners opted for bowling and pool with their own, while Hans, Nick, Diane and Sue decided to resume last weekend's movie mania. The C-Clique had been incinerated, but it did not bring joy, especially to the person who thought it would benefit him most- Hans.

Setting aside her squabbles with the Ice Queen Sanya Dival, Angie painted a perfect picture of stress, running around tirelessly to settle a charity event she was organizing with a few others, to be held on Saturday. On top of that, her heart had been reignited, feelings flowing like her ex BFF towards Mango Mophead. For Hans, it was frustration that flowed when his group in English class started conversing in the dreaded alien language. And the shocking unforeseen event that occured, whereby Hans expelled a vast amount of blood, heaped more misery on his aching shoulders. Was his health taking a dangerous turn for the worse? Or was it all karma for all the darkness he had unleashed onto others? Sue's boy drama had reached an end, but it could not prevent her from continuous word vomit regarding them. Time will tell if those around her get sick of the vomit, or will join in it. John looks relatively issue-free, having completed the major tasks of the week, only the university application being the torn in his brain. For Diane, it was the personal issues outside college that required her attention. And with Nick, it remains to be seen if he can step up and fight the stacking odds placed against him, or if he will get beaten down and conquered by his problems.

The monsoon season looks to have arrived, daily thunderstorms littering the afternoon. With each new day, the sunlight that shines in Sunway diminishes, and so does the trust levels amongst individuals, their resolve to remain in the loop without being affected as high as ever. But with old problems amplifying and new problems arising on a daily basis, coupled with the eruption of the monstrous volcano, bets are high all hell will break loose soon. Thankfully, the weekend has arrived, sparing more potential dramas and fights.

*The Future Is Today

Described as the time that follows the present, the future is somehow always talked about, where large-scale plans are made, but yet, almost always, it never comes. Seconds turn to hours, days to weeks and months to years, but yet the future is perpetually out of reach, perhaps a coccoon of deceit shrouded with the progression of the present time to hide the fear of facing what struggles or pain the time ahead might hold. Sooner or later though, the future has to arrive, albeit without a fixed slot. For Sunway's academicans, the future was today.

One giant burden had been lifted off John Bow's shoulders, and that was his oral presentation. Days of anxiety had been satisfied with the 10plus minutes of presentation, one that got along pretty smoothly. To celebrate the end of the massive task, he invited an emo-looking Hans Basil out to AC. The celebrations turned out premature as Hans shocked John by whipping him in several rounds. The mood turned tables when two of John's hometown friends crashed the little outing, upping his mood while shoving Hans into the depths of alienism yet again. Thankfully, Nick Ivans was there to save the irritated Hans Basil by offering an escape route to Sunway Pyramid. Stepping foot there for the 4th day in a row was not an issue for Hans, as he desperately sought a way out from a potentially fun turned sick day. As for John, his celebrations continued as he drove out of town to 1 U with the other 2 friends. Hopefully he is aware that the end of oral presentation is not the end of the course.

Not as lucky as John were the Sue Anne and Angie Flo, who were more interested in looking good than presenting well. Wondering around the mall with Angie Flo, Hans, Nick, Diane Shine and Thomas Gene culminated with only Angie and Thomas getting what they wanted, as Sue could not find a skirt for her presentation, those she have at home not conforming to the standards required. Things did not get better after Angie departed for home. The 5 friends enjoyed dinner before going their seperate ways, with Sue roaming the mall alone hoping she could pick out something. Unfortunately for her, she could not. With no formal clothing, would her mind go into overdrive and panic, causing her to lose focus on the presentation?

Tuesdays were the days where the girls usually took advantage of the long break to enjoy a quick escape to Pyramid. This time though, it was Dan Wise and John who took over the reigns, the latter accompanying the former to settle some issues before hitting the bowling arena. For the others, it was the banal lunch trip to any of the five available eateries around the college. It was during lunch that Sue, Angie and Hans had an open conversation, the very first time the trio laid bare within the presence of the others. The saying "talk is cheap" could not be applied in this case, as pressing issues were cleared and all doubts pertaining to certain matters removed.

For the first time in Sunway, every individual was bogged by issues of the heart. Hans had made the bold decision to shut his heart, even to friends, but the strings of the past continue to tug at that organ. Nick Ivans, down with an illness, still confused and tired of the whole game love had enmeshed him in. Sue Anne's niggling issue - the inability to pick one out of three guys- had been solved. Abruptly, and against her will, with the discovery that Dan Wise had set his sights on another, and that Leo Jon was indeed happily attached. And with "Long-Haired Hottie" never a serious option, it seems Sue is back to the life of Lonely Girl, but only in love. Angie Flo, who seems to be out of the dating field perpetually, had been dumped back into the game, her initial crush on current "It" boy Lukas not taken into account. How apt that the boy she has her eyes on is indeed a close friend of Leo. Two close girl friends having crushes on two close guy friends. Hopefully Angie does not suffer the same fate as Sue, having endured the agony once. Nightly attacks of insomnia had seen Hans appearing zombie-like in college daily, but not once had he looked as terrible as Sanya Dival- unkempt clothes and hair, along with puffy and panda eyes. Fallen Sunway queen had crahed her ex's place the previous night, the after-effects of the act unclear. Pretty incongruous, as were her past actions. Was she going through a transition? Or was this all a major reaction to knowing that she had no chance with Mango Mophead? As for John Bow, his love life remained the same way it had been throughout his college life-stagnant, but yet again, he endured the miserable shame of being a negative target. Last year's bad hair days endeared him to the disparaging "gay" label, and this time, he was bluntly mistaken for a girl. Just further evidence that Lady Luck's vicious cycle continues, not sparing the victims hit before.

The time had come-planning for the future. Everyone had pushed aside thoughts of the future with regards of their tests, assignments and personal battles. But for this day, their brains had the uncomfortable task of solving what they had been avoiding. In one solid hour, every indviduals' brains were scrambled as they were inundated with multitudes of information- from entry requirements for different courses, campus locations, the different available courses, different intakes, to the different items to prepare and the list was endless. Confusion raged as their minds raced to think of what they should do, realising that their future had to be decided soon, with no further delay. Calls were made, questions strewn and heads scratched as Sunway's Mixed tried to decide what was best for them. For some, reality bit them hard that separation beckoned, that their applications to the respective universities not only marked their futures but also the dispersion from the group. While separation was out of their hands, their future was not, as they had just over a week to carefully plan the fine details of their future. For the sake of their future, hopefully every individual makes the right decision, and not let it be swayed by external influences.

Hans was one student, together with John, who had been bothered by the future for a long time. It had no connection to his "shut off" mode, though his recent actions had raised eyebrows, perhaps a part of his new self. A shocking blast at Nick during the usual after-school meal was followed with disparaging and deriding comments and attitudes towards Sanya and Ash, who felt powerless and stunned. And with Dan constantly reminding him of Lukas' rising popularity, Hans' reaction was one of nonchalance. Silence as a sign of jealousy that the spot he had once held now taken firmly by someone else? Or silence indicating that he could no longer be bothered by the trivial matters in college? While the dethroned king had retreated into an emo shell, his ex was not lying down without a fight. While her attempts at snagging a hot guy had failed, she followed the same medium that shot Nick to stardom- media. News that she would appear on television proliferated around college, and tongues started wagging. Could this be the one thing that would reclaim her throne back from Diane Shine? Or would it represent the one last final opportunity she had?

The rainy days have started, the dark clouds continuously gathering and indicating that they would be watching over Sunway for a longer period before sunlight can pierce through the darkness and shine over this city that never sleeps, but always slips. Faces of people have also turned dark, their light ravaged by the blackness of evil, masked by deciet and betrayal. The Good had turned bad, The Bad had turned worse, and for The Ugly, well, they remained ugly.

*The Camels That Broke The Straw's Back

Judgement Day had finally arrived in Sunway, its advent planned eight long weeks in advance. The moment of truth that would seperate the victorious and the failures. Thankfully, non achieved the latter, although a few failed to conform to the former completely.

Friday the 20th probably displaced Friday the 13th as the day containing bad luck and all apropos. Pandemonium inundated Sunway University College MUFY students as last minute touch-ups and checks were made before the submission of Research Paper, encapsulating hard work, sweat and tears. John Bow, Sue Anne, Hans Basil, Diane Shine and Angie Flo beat the deadline as they managed to breathe huge sighs of relief at overcoming the initially invincible opponent. Unfortunately for Sanya Dival and her friend Ash, they learnt the tough lesson that all play and no work was not the way to progress in college. Both suffered straight deductions after failing to meet the due time, and a hectic 11th hour scramble allowed them to barely finish the project, albeit being ridden with mistakes. And the sorrow did not end there for Sanya.

Her one-sided feelings for Mango Mophead had increased exponentially during the past weeks, her unfulfilled fantasies driving her beyond levels of sanity and reducing her to a status one would never have ever associated her with- a stalker. Spotting her thin crush within the compounds of college, she tailed him until the environs, grabbing the slim opportunity she had blown hilariously two weeks ago. Her stalking culminated in spotting him entering a car, driven possibly by a girl, possibly his girlfriend. Poor Sanya. All the amount and energy spent on the Mango, when it had already been plucked off the tree. How would she react after this tragic discovery?

Not so emotional as expected. After the mass submission of Research Paper, the feeling that erupted in college could be equivalent to that of graduation. The joy dissipated sensationally and unexpectedly however, as a series of plans, dissensions and lethargy accumulated into a conglomeration of confusion and irritation. On the itinerary was an escape from Sunway to the city with Theo Oscar and his lady love, a church party with Diane Shine and the regular AC visit with Sanya. Item 2 was the initial plan, but it was ravaged with the introduction of Item 1, which subsequently got canned due to further disagreements. Back to Item 2 it was, only for Item 3 to replace it yet again. In the end, everyone went their seperate ways- Sanya and Ash hitting AC, Diane attending her party alone and Sue Anne and Hans cooking a plan with Nick Ivans to spend the late night watching a movie, which Diane joined for after her party. As for John, he was spotted in AC by Sanya with a hometown friend, enjoying the comforts of pool and conveniently forgetting the oral presentation that he was completely unprepared for. Perhaps he was lulled by the false sense of accomplishment that the submission of Research Paper meant the end of all work.

One more Saturday, one more day to waste, as Nick, John, Sue, Sanya and Hans ventured out yet again, not together, pushing aside all work. Nick and Hans visited Sunway Pyramid yet again, where they engaged in a serious conversation, leading to the former, who is susceptible to falling to the emo side, being at risk of the dreaded nightmare yet again. Simultaneously, Hans was engaging with a long overdue private conversation with Angie Flo, where disturbing views and opinions were thrashed out. Sue watched her second movie in a row with a different group of friends while John decided to belt out his talents, no mind on the battle approaching him in two days. As for Sanya, her defiance at those labelling her a clubber looked hypocritical as she partied and clubbed the night away with those she had been with the day before. The real Sanya emerging? Or just a reaction to her earlier discovery of Mango's attached status?

Another Sunday, this time with disparate occurrences. John perhaps realised his fallacies and spent the entire day working on his oral presentation, hoping his exertions the days before would not cost him marks on peformance. Nick, Sue and Hans decided to study, before their minds started wandering and furiously thought of activities to do other than studying. The result- movie. At Pyramid. Yet again. Money was tight, especially for Hans, whose financial situation is heading for a complete meltdown, but yet the triumvirate could not fight the lure of Pyramid, as they watched the second movie- third for Sue- in 3 days. At the rate money was flowing out and no work going in, it looks like they were heading for a productive deficit.

Various sectors of darkness seem to be formulating evil plans one at a time, vehement in usurping the peace that had descended Sunway the last few weeks. With the volcano bubbling and waiting ever-so-patiently to erupt, a subtle division had emerged, the hometown card being played, threatening to wreak more havoc on the already thin ice. It seems no "outsider" could breach the impermeable wall erected by these Hometowners, who remain together on one side, the rest on the other. The significance and effect of this remains to be seen, and whether it had any cause on Hans' sudden change of heart was unknown. After several trust issues that had obliterated his mental capacity, Hans had made the surprising decision to isolate himself personally from the rest, including the new clique he had been ingrained in, sparing him the resulting agony of having his trust betrayed and face being lied to, should these mishaps occur. This could not have come at a worse time for his new roommate, whose arrival any time soon coincides with Hans closing his heart and self, no longer receptive to fundamental contact. A bid to protect himself after so many emotional scars and tragedies? Whatever the case may be, the dark clouds have certainly come out to play, and judging by the way things have been going, their stay in the sky looks to remain for a long period of time.

*The Make Over, The Break's Over (Part 2)

No matter how good an image, how respected the reputation, or how great the status, a moment of folly could detroy all that had been accumulated before, turning it into worthless dust. Last year, Sanya Dival's and Hans Basil's personal turmoils saw them thrown off the social radar they had been dominating, replaced this year by Lukas and Diane Shine. John Bow's reputation as the 'Silent Killer' came under heavy doubt and scrutiny as poor judgement caused his hairstyle to turn out unfavourably, leading to a very uncomfortable few weeks in college. Angie Flo's good girl image was put under the spotlight after rumours of her sexuality arose. This year, two guys had a turn for the worse, one for the second time, and for the same reason as one last year.

Hair. Seemingly unimportant to some, but intensely significant to most, spending a copious amount of time styling it to appear attractive on the whole. And two "mistakes" led to two individuals garnering unwanted attention and remarks- Dan Wise and Hans Basil. Dan's new look was not bad as his friends were just unused to the new look, but it did dent his "resident hunk" status a little. However, it was not as bad as the derision Hans recieved upon his return to Sunway. As if spending 2 long hours bonding with a taxi stand was not bad enough, he had to endure sniggers from Nick Ivans, Sanya Dival and Sue Anne who could not contain their shock at his equally shocking new look. And the troubles did not end there. The first day in school witnessed the ultimate insult hurled at him- being labelled the proverbial nerd Jay Dic, the forgotten Sunway sideliner. How would this affect Hans, who seems to be slipping down the social ladder? From the "It" guy, to the Outsider, and now this. Can he recover?

While talk of Dan's new look died down, so did his "relationship" with Sue Anne, as a group lunch showed a clear lack of chemistry between them. Despite sitting together, Dan completely ignored her and chatted with his hometown friends while Sue conversed with her step-brother Theo Oscar. Perhaps his new look irked her, given the amount of time she spent thinking and talking to Hans about Leo Jon, who seemed amused by her word vomit. What about 'Long-Haired Hottie', who had Sue weak in the knees? From not being interested, she is now stuck with 3 people, making headway with none.

Sunway's new dancing star, courtesy of his ass-grinding performance, Nick Ivans, together with Diane Shine, had created a new study plan, one more effective, albeit being very constly. From individual studying in rooms, to the college foyer, the Study Preponderance of Nick, Diane, Sue and Hans took a further direction, on to Sunway Pyramid's Starbucks. Perfect ambience, perfect location, unfortunately no perfect price, the condition that they have to purchase an over-priced drink being the only flaw. While it may be heavy on the wallets and purses, it did not stop them from patronising the place, and with Hans' and Sue's brilliant idea of incorporating their friends into Mathematical and Economic topics, which translated to easier comprehension, the expensive plan looks set to continue.

Last few days marking the advent of the dreaded deadline of Research Paper. Mad scrambles in the library and foyer could be seen as students try to meet the deadline, rushing to finish whatever was left of it. For Hans, Angie Flo and Diane, the pressure was off as they had either completed it or most of it, left with just minor touch ups. For John and Theo, the pressure got to them as news of their friends finishing the project filtered out. John's situation was still manageable as he overcame his struggles to regain the groove. For Theo, his was an uphill battle as the paucity of the Internet at home meant the remaining few days were make or break. And with more tests piling up, would he be broken? Or can he make it?

Eternal darkness looks set to sweep over Sunway these coming days, as an insidious volcano is likely to erupt after silent days of developing beneath the grounds of Sunway. An important trust had been broken, the contents of its secret spilled as a prominent figure could fall from grace. Hearts are now closed, protected from the evil pervading the air in college, with the rise of the Pratibitch adding to the darkness, albeit more literally. Trust has now become an issue, with the faces plastered on the heads of people being meer veneers, a facade aimed to decieve. Three individuals nurse crushes, two major one minor, but with the larger picture gearing for a complete disarray, sadly, the Sun has truly departed from Sunway.

*The Make Over, The Break's Over (Part 1)

The holidays. Dead and gone in a flash. Last year, the theme of the holidays was boredom, emblazoned boldly on everyone's heads and in every day. This time though, the same could not be said, as boredom hardly had a sniff at the break due to the monstrous workload that pulverized almost every student, rendering the term holidays worthless and meaningless. Relaxation and recuperation could not occur, and instead the mind and body were made to work even harder, producing an adverse effect during the holidays. While the workload damaged almost everyone's mental health, the distribution of the effect was not even, some affected greater than others, while one individual seemed free from the clutches of work.

Among the greatest affected were John Bow, Angie Flo and Theo Oscar. Stress Week, prior to the holidays, had deteriorated their physial and mental strength greatly, and the holidays was looking like Stress Week 2. Research Paper was the main culprit constituting to the deterioration, demanding almost all of the holidays be paid to its attention. While John managed to start decently, he hit a major stumbling block towards the end, three days spent lamenting the hindrance he was unable to remove. On top of that, his influential "sleeping power" kept rearing its ugly yet distracting head, pulling him perpetually into dreamland. Facing no such distractions was Angie Flo, who's project looked to be ripped apart after a very subtle yet debilitating error right at the start. Thanks to Sue Anne and Nick Ivans, Angie's project got back on track, and determined not to err again, she utilized her holidays and managed to complete most of it, much to her joy, and John's shock, that he had fallen so far behind. And with Economics test on the first day, time was of the essence.
No Econs test, but no luck whatsoever as well for Theo Oscar. Having attained a full percentage for the first submission, perhaps he got complacent and rested on his laurels, preferring to focus on other subjects, When the pressure finally got to him, he realized that the all-important Internet was not by his side, causing him the inability to continue with his Research Project. Seeking help from Hans Basil was unfruitful as the latter could not offer the help required needed sans the Internet. Who will falter in the race against time?

One student surprising himself and perhaps the others was Hans Basil, whose predilection for English ground out impressive results. Within the first 4 days of the holidays, he had managed to complete the entire project, accidentally triggering stress waves to his friends, which might have worked to their advantage. Unfortunately for Hans, the remaining 5 days were wasted with unproductive slacking and skiving, and not to mention the incessant and burgeoning fights and disputes with his parents which were crippling him right to the core. Stuck in a rut, his indecisive nature torn in two minds, not wanting to return, but not wanting to remain. Logic told him to return, though the nebulous future after the course shed no light on the purpose of returning. And to compound his misery, an early morning mishap got a nail stabbing him in his abdomen.

Sanya Dival, despite suffering the agony of having to complete Research Paper, pushed it aside as she enjoyed the time she had with family slightly across the globe. Upon her return though, things resumed business, where they left off before the break. Not her research project, but her fantasies about her major crush, who had been affectionately termed 'Mango Mophead'. For days and nights, he was the only thing on her mind. Perhaps it was due to this that she encountered an accident while driving, her mind wandering off the road and into Mango's skinny arms. She should thank her lucky stars the accident was not serious. Unlike her crush. And apparently, her ex was getting back into the game too, his late night conversations with Kia Jens reigniting their dead friendship. With rumours swirling that she's single, could there be an opportunity for 2 unlikely individuals to get together?

Another individual that had been affected by the same problems for weeks was good girl gone bad Sue Anne. Her transition had shocked many in Sunway, not that it bothered her though, as her mind was concerned about other issues. Prior to the break, the emergence of Leo Jon had added a fresh twist to the long and tired lovegame between her and Dan Wise. During the nine days, her confused mind was in a conundrum trying to decide who she liked, turning to music for assistance. Unfortunately the divine refused to intervene, stringing her along and taking her mind off the all-important Research Paper. Looks like Bad Girl need to put her priorities in order before she implodes.

The one individual not affected by the monstrous Research Paper was Nick Ivans, who seemed to be on a holiday in Sunway with Diane Shine. The latter was not as lucky as the former, still clung to the heavy piece of work. But luckily for her, her knight in shining armour was there to save her day, and her Research Paper- the one with the face of a thousand impressions Nick Ivans, his vehement commitment in assisting her bearing the rewarding fruit of a completed project. His just rewards? Satisfaction and glee in being a good samaritan, while Diane however, could not really enjoy what was left of the holiday due to the Econs test she had to study for. Unfortunately, shortage of luck and a high demand for it leads to an unequal distribution of it.

Holidays are over, another week of school starts, another week of studying, tests and definitely, drama. The week promises lots of action and intense drama as a shocking turn of event looks set to remove the sun from 'Sunway', paving the way for a dark future in the city that never sleeps.

As if Work Ain't stressin' Me Enuf, U Gotta Dump more Crap on Me

I guess Nick was right after all. I shdnt have come back. And i guess I was wrong after all. I shd never have returned. Stupid circumstances just make a fuckin mockery of my life right now. And i don't know where to start.

It really kills me that last sem's results wont be counted. AT ALL. "Last semester's results will be pushed one side. It won't be touched anymore. Monash will only look at your internal marks for entry" (Lee, 2009). And what counts now is what i can't do. or is struggling really hard with. it jus makes the reason for my return void. and work is piling so much im on the verge of just lettin it all go and flunkin everything. sigh.
stuck on Consumption function (or was it AE sth?) for 3 hrs today, and another 2 last nite. fuck econs. don even start on math. oh wait i cant. hah funnneeeee. i cant achieve wad u want me to achieve. i cant match their superior and high standards. accept it will ya and get over the fact im not a smartass like they are.

i could prolly have completed RP in sunway. and skip home. its startin all over again. im freakin 21. not 12. treat me like an adult. or at least do wad uve been doin for the better part of yr lives and ignore me. silence is golden. id rather have yr silence than derision. ive a limit to takin crap ok. i give u respect y cant u freakin hell do the same? wen i ask u for $, its cos i fuckin hell need it, not cos im money minded dammit. ive rarely asked u for money and fuck ive given u so much wen u needed it. and i din complain nor did i ask for it in return. cos yr my parent. but apparently i aint yr son. 300 lasts me just 2 weeks maybe. stop avoiding the qns and "see how" or "soon" answers. "soon" has been waitin since september last year. ive used almost all i have, and im down to the bare minimum. u want evidence? too see it with yr own eyes that im completely burnt b4 finally deciding to give me access to basic necessities? stop givin me things that i don need, and just give me wad i need. tts ALL i ask for. fuck ur controlling every friggin part of my life. y do u guys ease off on the others, and go all hard on me? u shd have access to this blog. maybe its the only way i can get thru to u. cos i don feel like yr son, and heaven forbid u aint actin like my parents. it cld be down to

1) me being adopted
2) me really being an alien (i tink its this one. how on earth can i stuff myself daily with all the junk in the world and LOSE 3 kg in 6 days?)
home feels like hell. sunway feels like hell. surely i can find one place of solitude to escape this crazy madness. its lame to blog abt it, but i jus need a friggin outlet. dun wanna bother ppl with self-pity emo-y grandmother stories. as of now the only thing i can hold on to are my sibs and frens. But even then things don stay good for long. in my case at least. thrs just no point. really.

*The Final Day

The time had finally come, when all good things, and some may say bad, come to an end. The closing of a short chapter only paves the way for the opening of a longer one. And as all books go, no chapters end without some food for thought, or twists and turns. What matters most is the finale, the final conclusion of the story, and not the ends of each chapters. Sadly, no one can predict or foresee what each chapter brings to their lives, but they do know how their story ends though- death.

Insomniac was on the attack, but only for Hans Basil. Since returning to Sunway he's had less than 4 hours of sleep daily, portraying zombie-like features in college. For Nick Ivans and John Bow though, it was the complete opposite- having too much sleep and struggling to wake up. While Nick had missed numerous early classes due to this affliction, John had not. Till now. His inability to wake up caused him an absence from Accounts, a first. Hans, Sue Anne and Angie Flo were left stumped, as none had imagined this would have come from John. Could this be a sign of things to come in future?

As the week came to a final halt, Hans Basil was still dogged by the uncertainty of his future. Now that the dates of his expected Government Service had been released, how would his studies be affected? Could opportunity actually be coming back, opening a closed door for him to escape Sunway yet again? As if that wasn't troubling enough, a shocking cryptic message from his recent past- Erin Faroe July- left him stymied. At least there was some light in the dark tunnel- a reunion with a very close friend from home seemed to have injected new life and strength into Hans' depleting energy and resolve. Add a little humour and his life could be back on track. A simple act of rocking back on a chair nearly gifted him the award for most embarrassing act of the year. Chair rocked too far back, table behind giving way and Hans found himself falling with legs in the air and arms flailing around. Miraculously, only the chair thumped to the floor as Hans' legs managed to gain stability. Even more miraculous was the fact that no one in class heard the chaos, saving his red face.

Good friend John Bow was not having it any easier. Depsite solving issues with Hans which enabled him to worry about one less problem, he was facing the same academic conundrums as his ex-roommate. He was struggling to cope with the confusing and fast pace of studies, and on top of that he had to deflect untruths about him being a closet genius, given that he had obtained full marks in a Math test. With amounting pressure on his shoulders generously donated by deadlines, will he be able to emerge from the break voctorious with all he had set his sights on accomplished? Or will he break down and fail?
If studies weren't causing him enough concern, his good-boy image in college was at risk of being polluted. While Hans and his English Coursemate got off scot-free while fooling around and causing a ruckus during class, John got caught by the lecturer the only one time he did, much to his shock and Hans' amusement. And to add to his woes, a girl in the same class did not find his derision towards another student amusing, throwing glares his way. Could John have replaced Nick as The Joker?

Weeks spent in college until the early hours of the morning had been the catalyst for tongues to wag and rumours to spread, culminating in a possible scandal between two people- Nick Ivans and Diane Shine. The pair had been spotted almost nightly at the college foyer studying and entertaining each other. Quality time spent between two people together would definitely draw them closer, and it seemed this was what was happening between the pair. No one could place a solid conclusion on their status due to lack of evidence, and the duo remained tight-lipped on the issue as a whole. Whatever the circumstances may be, Nick's blossoming friendship with Diane looks set to bring cheer to the others. How this is possible is unknown, but it just is.

Music had been a huge determinant in Sue Anne's life, from the mundane questions to those of utmost importance. So allured by its mesmerizing form that she even placed matters of her heart into Music's non-existent hands. However, its answers seem to have lost its once attractive hold on her.
One's heart and head do not necessarily work in tandem, and this was the case with Sue. Her heart was torn, not into pieces, but towards different directions, stuck in an emotional crossroad. While her heart may have yearned for a much changed Dan Wise, the sudden advent of another in her life changed that. Leo Jon, her Accounting classmate, had some sort of connection with both Hans and John, and it was through Hans that Sue heard of Leo. She could not keep her eyes off his charming face, and it led to her feeling confused and emotionally entangled. To top it off, her Math classmate had confessed his feelings to her with the intention to get together. Sue had been emotionally closed for almost the whole of last year, and now, she has 3 paths to choose. With indecisiveness nibbling her heart and head, what would her decision be?

Another individual stuck in an emotional confusion was Sanya Dival. A random online quiz was the stimulant behind her bold decision to lay off relationships, but her heart was telling her otherwise. Nursing a crazy schoolgirl crush over the relatively unknown guy had her head over heels and not thinking straight, with minor glimpses of him not satisfying her burgeoning desire to see him. Lady Luck dealt her a very good hand one night, although a simple moment of folly destroyed all that.
Hans and Sanya were playing around outside Sunway University College one night when the latter's crush appeared from nowhere. Unfortunately for her, she did not realise it, and piggybacking on Hans only served to humiliate her, with shrieks of "my ass is hanging" and girlish laughter echoing into the night air, and into her crush's ears, who gave her a very bemused look before disappearing into the night. Sanya's face turned red with embarrassment and disappointment, as her one chance may have slipped off her fingers. Opportunity comes only once, and she blew it spectacularly.

A very optimistic Angie Flo looked extremely happy as the week drew to a close. Smiles were plastered on her face as it probably belied the stress and pressure the amount of work would have caused, like it did with Hans, John, Diane, Sue and Theo Oscar. Perhaps the thought of a week long break rejuvenated her, as she spent her last day of college having a mini girls day out. Her joy might be short-lived though, and the reason behind it is not studies as she might expect. It seems her concerns pertaining to a certain individual, one that led to trouble in her paradise, may be corroborated with evidence after all, and it could turn out to be a very sticky situation if not handled well. Maybe she ought to believe in herself more, but even in belief, there is a lie.

Night dawned on the final day in Sunway as many befitting and significant events occured. After tumultuous weeks in college, Hans and John look to have finally put all their differences behind them, having spent the night bonding like never before with a trip to Sunway Pyramid and AC, where they ran into Shayne, Ana and Mitch. The five proceeded to shisha where John experienced for the first time the life his buddy was living outside college, and outiside the C-Clique. Needless to say the final night in college did both friends good as they set to depart the next morning. Nick and Diane, having spent the night studying, made the strange decision to remain in Sunway during the holidays, reasons unknown. As for Sanya, she left Sunway for India, pondering the consequences of her petulant act with Hans the night before, if it had ended any progress with her crush. What will the holidays do to these individuals? Can they make it out alive, irony present in the fact holidays being a period of rest and recuperation? Can Hans sort out his future, or will it erupt into a giant academic mess? Angie and Sue aren't spared from potential heartbreak too, one dealing with issues of the heart, one who might be. The future looks to be played out in many different ways, with Hans holding on to a potentially explosive secret that could cause all hell to break loose. Looking at how things have gone the past few months, one can expect the unexpected in the months ahead.

*The Dirty Little Secret

Trust is one of the most important values a human being can ever possess and hope to recieve. Mentioned before, without the foundation of trust, relationships between human beings would be shallow, empty shells, where communication and vital bonding cannot exist. While a lack of trust would lead to devastating emotional destruction, overdosage of it would lead to the same results if one is too gullible. This 5 letter word represents one very volatile component in anyone's life, and how they 'utilize' it can result in very disprate outcomes.

Hans and his mysterious friend surprised themselves with the short span of time they had bonded and gelled. They had never hung out before and had never conversed, yet one night of harmless fun changed all that. Perhaps it was the discovery of the similar nature of characters that had endeared one to the other.
While their trust in each other was not solid, Hans' mystery friend had disclosed some disturbing secrets a few nights back. With the trust placed in him by X bearing a huge cost on friends involved, Hans made the bold decision to reciprocate that trust and somehow betray a friend in the process. And for the second time, another private conversation between Hans and X occured, with yet another troubling secret revealed, one that completely changed the perspective Hans held of one of his friends. How would this new information affect Hans' attitude towards this friend?

Cravings for ice-cream led to Diane Shine, Nick Ivans, Hans Basil, Leroy, Cheez Kenzo and his close friend walking to nearby Sunway Pyramid to satisfy those yearnings. Prior to that though was dinner, and reality whooped Hans in his face as he was forced to omit dinner due to the steep prices and his faltering financial situation. He had enough to settle for ice-cream, although he knew that he would not be able to afford such luxuries in time to come given that his money inflow looked bleak. Just what exactly was going on within his family that was preventing money from being transferred?
Sue Anne may have missed out on the outing, but she did not on the fun, enjoying a midnight movie with her friends. Of late, pressures of studies had nibbled at her mind, although other concerns pertaining to that of emotions overruled those brought about by studies. On top of that, Sue seemed to have undergone an extreme makeover, character wise. From being the Silent Hottie last year, she seemed to have evolved into a more loquacious lady, one whose jokes and conversations constantly revolve around sexual inuendos, stunning her friends. Was it just a mere transition? Or has the real Sue Anne finally emerged?

Nick Ivans and Hans Basil could probably symbolise the epitome of trust as their friendship blossomed over the past few weeks. Studying, eating, fagging together, and the list is endless. Whether Nick had subconciously replaced John was anyone's guess, but he and Hans seem to get along so well that they even suffered the same misfortune, one after the other.
Nick had been labelled the very deriding title of "gay" due to an honest mistake couple of months back, and this time, Hans found himself in the same position. Few weeks back during Angie Flo's party, his unfortunate choice of songs in his handphone led to one reveller giving him the same title. And a few days ago, another student mistook him for one, by virtue of a joke gone wrong. Could Hans be the mystery person who had altered his sexual preferences? Or was it all one giant mess?

No matter how close one is to another friend, problems and fights will emerge. Hans faced it with John recently while Sanya Dival and Angie went through it last year. This time, Hans' emotional instability caused an unnecessary rift between himself and good buddy Nick. Lame and cheerful one moment, angry and emo the precise next. It was a wonder why Hans suddenly blasted Nick during lunch, leading up to a very uncomfortable day for the duo. If that wasn't strange enough, Ash suffered a worse fate, his jovial nature torn to shreds when Hans had enough of the former's jokes and unleahed a venomous spray of evil so dark it made Ash look light. John Bow was left completely stunned, his resulting silence an indication of his shock.

With holidays around the corner, it was a tacit fact that Sunway was filled with joy. John, Dan Wise and Jac Bizkit released some accumulated stress by bowling and watching a movie together with two others. Hans, Sanya, Ash and Sue skipped Sunway's environs and headed into the city, where they found fun walking around aimlessly. Once back in Sunway, Ash trooped home, Hans and Sue met Shawn, invited him with them for ice-cream and they, including Sanya, headed out again, where they engaged in sub-personal conversations and pure triffling talk. In Sunway, Nick and Diane were busy studying Math and Magic, the former enthralling the latter with his array of neat tricks. Such extreme activities from the norm.

As the week draws to a close, many things still remain unsettled, many problems persist and many questions unanswered. Secrets, rumours and lies fly around college that one has trouble sieving truth from all distorted fact. This is where the vital element of trust comes in. Who can you trust in disseminating truth, blocking your ears from deciet and separating fact from fiction.

*The Reverse Stress Psychology

Things do not go the way you want it to, the way you expect it to, the way you know it's supposed to. It is common among Sunway's Mixed, having experienced this one too many times. And sometimes occurences are so shocking they leave you speechless, no one seeing them coming. In the tiny city that does not sleep, anything that can happen will happen, and when it does, it ups the interest factor. For some at least. For a few others, they get affected negatively. And for the remainder, they remain unmoved. The past week in Sunway witnessed the most stress-filled days anyone had ever experienced, especially Hans Basil.

It was a clear indication that his week was going to be stressful, given by the weekend prior to Stress Week. Hans and Ash trooped off to the city to remove the virus that had pulverized the former's laptop. Unfortunately, he couldn't do anything to cure the virus that had inundated his life.
Trudging for nearly 7 hours in the hectic city life was enough to destroy one weekend, but the week ahead promised much more misery. Hans found himself buried deeper and deeper in his work as nightly visits to the college foyer was beginning to deteriorate quality-wise, reality sinking in as he struggled to cope. If that was not bad enough, he was informed by the deputy director of his course that his excellent results last semester was void in applying for university, and that only his test results would be taken into account. Hans was perhaps feeling like the biggest fool, for the basis of his return to Sunway- to continue his excellent academic form- had jus been nullified, and the one thing that would get him into university was the one thing he was struggling with. At least this time he was only battling against studies, Stress Week culminating with Jac Bizkit tutoring Hans on Accounts and Nick Ivans boiling with rage.

Nick Ivans had been the epitome of carefree the past few days, happy go lucky as he took everything in his stride and just enjoying what life had to offer. But for once he had to experience what Hans did on almost a daily basis, when a normal night of studying ended with him losing his house keys. A thorough search was fruitless as the loss resulted in Nick seething with such rage that he made the hulk look tame. In the end, he was forced to crash Hans' place, as the pair reignited talk that had been brought about by Sue Anne and Diane Shine weeks ago, about future accomodation.

The catalyst for John Bow's departure from the hostel was studies- he needed solitude and peace in order for him to fully focus academically. Expectation was high that once he got what he wanted, he would do what he wanted. Equally high was the probability Hans' studies would falter as John had been his motivating factor last semester, and now he was gone. Yes, the departure affected Hans' and John's studies, just not in the way it was supposed to.
Since moving in to Palmville, John had faced more pleasant distractions, ultimately costing him precious time with his books and notes, although the fun factor amplified greatly. Whereas for ex-roommate Hans, the boredom that greeted him daily in his room forced him to spend his time in college, where he utilized the time to study. Who thought the move out would favour Hans academically, while making a mockery of John's decision in the first place?

Yet another weekend arrived after the Stress Week, a week that saw many of Sunway's students poring over Research Paper and other academic related matters. Angie Flo, Hans, Nick and Sue piad a visit to Sunway Pyramid for a late lunch, where John and Dan Wise were also present. Rumours were swirling that a mini rift had emerged between the C-Clique, evident that lunches were now eaten seperately. Hans denied this vehemently, but he was never really part of it. Fortunately for him though, he somehow managed to shrug off his 'Outsider' tag, now usually spotted with Angie, Nick, Sue, Diane and Theo Oscar, while John and Dan remain the only two lunching during break. A subtle hint that power had shifted? Or just mere coincidence?

Another weekend, another time for relaxing, another trip to AC. Another scene of a mini divide with Hans, Nick and Sue in one subset, and John, Dan and the former's old friend in another. Present within the environs was yet another subset of Sanya Dival, Ash and a friend. Three groups of three people in one area, all having fun in their own way. For the first group, the fun started when the second left. And the fun took a weird turn when their bonding session in McDonald's got impeded by a moment of pure awkwardness. Sanya's first ex was present in the same fast food joint, and his stares at Hans and Nick were enough to ring some alarm bells in them. Once realization set in, the scene turned comical, with three of Sanya's exes in one place.

Continuing in his new found trend of basking in distractions was John, who was flanked by Dan and his close Palmville buddy in a shopping trip. While the trio were busy spending money, Hans, Sue, Nick and Diane spent time on studies, determined not to waste precious time. Hans managed to regain lost momentum, although his clarity on the topics were questionable. And yet again, for the umpteenth time, Hans and Diane had to deflect talk of being party animals, resulting in the latter being branded a liar. If mentioned once could be seen as mistake, what about multiple mentions? True but in denial?

The past week witnessed the possibility of a prominent figure in Sunway batting for the other team, setting eyes on those of the same sex. News of this would definitely rock Sunway University College as reactions and repercussions know no boundaries. This week, there are whispers that new boy Cheez Kenzo had also joined the club, his sexual preferences diverting from the norm. While things will definitely spice up, it seems that the madness will continue raging as circumstances struggle to restore sanity and parity.
