*The Make Over, The Break's Over (Part 1)

The holidays. Dead and gone in a flash. Last year, the theme of the holidays was boredom, emblazoned boldly on everyone's heads and in every day. This time though, the same could not be said, as boredom hardly had a sniff at the break due to the monstrous workload that pulverized almost every student, rendering the term holidays worthless and meaningless. Relaxation and recuperation could not occur, and instead the mind and body were made to work even harder, producing an adverse effect during the holidays. While the workload damaged almost everyone's mental health, the distribution of the effect was not even, some affected greater than others, while one individual seemed free from the clutches of work.

Among the greatest affected were John Bow, Angie Flo and Theo Oscar. Stress Week, prior to the holidays, had deteriorated their physial and mental strength greatly, and the holidays was looking like Stress Week 2. Research Paper was the main culprit constituting to the deterioration, demanding almost all of the holidays be paid to its attention. While John managed to start decently, he hit a major stumbling block towards the end, three days spent lamenting the hindrance he was unable to remove. On top of that, his influential "sleeping power" kept rearing its ugly yet distracting head, pulling him perpetually into dreamland. Facing no such distractions was Angie Flo, who's project looked to be ripped apart after a very subtle yet debilitating error right at the start. Thanks to Sue Anne and Nick Ivans, Angie's project got back on track, and determined not to err again, she utilized her holidays and managed to complete most of it, much to her joy, and John's shock, that he had fallen so far behind. And with Economics test on the first day, time was of the essence.
No Econs test, but no luck whatsoever as well for Theo Oscar. Having attained a full percentage for the first submission, perhaps he got complacent and rested on his laurels, preferring to focus on other subjects, When the pressure finally got to him, he realized that the all-important Internet was not by his side, causing him the inability to continue with his Research Project. Seeking help from Hans Basil was unfruitful as the latter could not offer the help required needed sans the Internet. Who will falter in the race against time?

One student surprising himself and perhaps the others was Hans Basil, whose predilection for English ground out impressive results. Within the first 4 days of the holidays, he had managed to complete the entire project, accidentally triggering stress waves to his friends, which might have worked to their advantage. Unfortunately for Hans, the remaining 5 days were wasted with unproductive slacking and skiving, and not to mention the incessant and burgeoning fights and disputes with his parents which were crippling him right to the core. Stuck in a rut, his indecisive nature torn in two minds, not wanting to return, but not wanting to remain. Logic told him to return, though the nebulous future after the course shed no light on the purpose of returning. And to compound his misery, an early morning mishap got a nail stabbing him in his abdomen.

Sanya Dival, despite suffering the agony of having to complete Research Paper, pushed it aside as she enjoyed the time she had with family slightly across the globe. Upon her return though, things resumed business, where they left off before the break. Not her research project, but her fantasies about her major crush, who had been affectionately termed 'Mango Mophead'. For days and nights, he was the only thing on her mind. Perhaps it was due to this that she encountered an accident while driving, her mind wandering off the road and into Mango's skinny arms. She should thank her lucky stars the accident was not serious. Unlike her crush. And apparently, her ex was getting back into the game too, his late night conversations with Kia Jens reigniting their dead friendship. With rumours swirling that she's single, could there be an opportunity for 2 unlikely individuals to get together?

Another individual that had been affected by the same problems for weeks was good girl gone bad Sue Anne. Her transition had shocked many in Sunway, not that it bothered her though, as her mind was concerned about other issues. Prior to the break, the emergence of Leo Jon had added a fresh twist to the long and tired lovegame between her and Dan Wise. During the nine days, her confused mind was in a conundrum trying to decide who she liked, turning to music for assistance. Unfortunately the divine refused to intervene, stringing her along and taking her mind off the all-important Research Paper. Looks like Bad Girl need to put her priorities in order before she implodes.

The one individual not affected by the monstrous Research Paper was Nick Ivans, who seemed to be on a holiday in Sunway with Diane Shine. The latter was not as lucky as the former, still clung to the heavy piece of work. But luckily for her, her knight in shining armour was there to save her day, and her Research Paper- the one with the face of a thousand impressions Nick Ivans, his vehement commitment in assisting her bearing the rewarding fruit of a completed project. His just rewards? Satisfaction and glee in being a good samaritan, while Diane however, could not really enjoy what was left of the holiday due to the Econs test she had to study for. Unfortunately, shortage of luck and a high demand for it leads to an unequal distribution of it.

Holidays are over, another week of school starts, another week of studying, tests and definitely, drama. The week promises lots of action and intense drama as a shocking turn of event looks set to remove the sun from 'Sunway', paving the way for a dark future in the city that never sleeps.
