Those pious will say we use our lives to glorify God.
For others, it is to make full use of life, the famous saying "live your life to the fullest".
But what exactly does it mean then? To live your life to the fullest?
Life is not a hectic race to see who finishes first. Who comes out on top. Who is better than the others. This just corrodes the true purpose of life does it not?
We study and work like crazy and stress ourselves up. We find present value, future value, fair value. But what about the value of life? Is there a benchmark to assess it? Is the value of life measured and assessed by our achievements and successes?
Is life an asset? Does it depreciate annually? Can we attach a carrying amount to it?
We are so consumed by everyday stresses that we never stop to ponder the reason we were put on earth. To just marvel at the awesome creations around us. Life to us is just meeting deadlines, passing exams and moving on. Sure, those are important. But is that why we're here? I don't know the answers, but I certainly am sure its not. Take a few moments to enjoy life each day. Because we only live once, and moments gone can never be lived ever again.
