The last completely 'free' weekend was up for grabs, and it was duly taken. With studies and love having taken centrestage the past week or so, it was inevitable that either of these two mutually exclusive events would pervade the lives of Sunway's Mixed. While studies should be on everyone's minds, it was not, nd while love should not have a sniff in anyone's hearts in lieu of the upcoming finals, it was. And that set the weekend off to a copletely disparate start.
The final nail had been laid in the coffin, the last shred of glass smashed to smithereens as the All-Sitiawan Rejects a.k.a The Outsiders had completely collapsed, evident with the latest lunch break. Dan Wise and John Bow continued the Hometown Division, Nick Ivans and Diane Shine were missing in action, Sanya Dival had a new clique to command and Hans Basil gave in to a pleading Sue Anne to have lunch at Sunway Pyramid with the 3 J's. With Angie Flo bonding well and drawing closer to Javis James, she herself had been pulling away from the Outsiders, perhaps unintentionally. The only positive note was perhaps the rate that Hans was bonding with Ash, the two seemingly tight. Considering the infamous "Cap Blast" a month or so ago, it seemed that incident only served to draw the pair closer remarkably.
New "It" girl Sue Anne discovered that the spotlight did indeed shine on her now that she was on top. And true to form, the activites that bounced off her packed schedule merely reflected the 'new' life she had attained. Always one for parties, she accepted Eugene's invitation for a party, and that was how she spent the beginning of her weekend- drinking and dancing the night away, with all worries and cares thrown to the side and letting her intoxicated mind take a well-deserved break. As with all 'It' girls however, problems multiply as much as the attention, and this one particular issue did not bode well for her- the discovery of Leo Jon's attachment.
While Sue was busy substantiating her status, Nick Ivans and Hans Basil engaged the complete opposite- allowing boredom to overrule themselves, thus heading to Sunway Pyramid to study, breaking the long-standing trend of keeping Friday a play day. With John Bow and his fellow Hometowners releasing stress via tennis and Angie spending quality time with a high school friend, it seemed only Hans was drowning himself in work as Nick soon got distracted. He soon passed his distraction to Hans though, as John felt guilty skiving and somehow managed to convince the duo to let let loose, and let loose they did. Nick persuaded Hans to hit AC, where the former gave the latter a lesson in pool he'd never forget. That was not the only thing he gave though, with Hans enduring a torrid ride home with Nick sexually harrassing him. Perhaps he was settling for the opportunity cost given the difficulty in attaining Lukas. For Hans, spending the night out ultimately became the price of potential fun the next day.
Javis James planned to throw a housewarming party, and Sue, Angie and Hans had been invited, along with the Joe and Leo. While the ladies could hardly contain their excitement, Hans was on the receiving end of fatigue, as he could barely coordinate himself, and furthermore, was replete with illness. He nulled his invitation, but his absence did not alter the subsequent fun that the party people had. Hans then met up with Nick for another study session, while nearby, Dan and John departed Sunway for a quick "metrosexualistic" activity. Within the environs, Sue and Angie partied at Javis' crib, with Sue making tight bonds with Cute Boy Leo Jon. Unfortunately, that was as far as it could go, after the fact emerged that he had a girlfriend. Sue did not mind though, and just soaked up the atmosphere. Similarly, Angie's progress with Javis was steady, assisted by the fact her competitor was nowhere in sight.
Angie had to leave the party midway due to her church service, but her absence did not prevent the fun from backsliding as the remaining party-goers headed to Sunway Pyramid to catch dinner and a movie, afterwhich they brought the fun back to where the party first started. Nick and Hans' indecisive nature led them to Palmville, where the latter robbed nearly 3 hours of sleep off John due to a bonding session. After that, he, together with Nick, explored Sunway under the dim moonlight until the early hour of the morning. Nearby, the party at Javis' residence turned down a notch as the revellers let their tired bodies rest, preparing them for the upcoming activities the next day.
Sports. Guys bond over it, and both sexes participate in it. Sue continued her fairytale weekend with the 3 J's, this time exerting energy in the various sports that had been planned. Nick and Hans continued Day 3 of their study session and John gathered enough will-power to open the books and throw out the distractions. The trio later converged at night for a little sports-viewing, the curtain closer to one of the rather eventful weekends. With Finals a mere 9 days away, the last weekend before its start does not look like replicating the one that had just past.
It was truly a blue Monday. John's mind continued being bombarded by the girl who he desperately yearned to know, as with Hans in his quest to get acquainted with Sabby Jill, the exotic newbie in college, although he looked to have his work cut out for him with her deploring eye contact putting Hans in John's shoes earlier on whereby she labelled him a stalker. The Monday Blues got worse, with John completly taken by surprise at Hans shocking petulant display of attitude that caused yet another tiring fight between them. For Sue, life at the top took a turn for the worse as her worst fears materialised. Luckily for her, Hans was by her side, and for the very first time, he saw her without all glitz and glamour, but completely stripped. Problems have a funny way of revealing the innermost thoughts and characteristics of people, and with no signs of the Outsiders reuniting, the last week or two in Sunway University College look darker than ever before.
When one clique get to stamp its mark around like a colossal giant, the minority try not to get smashed under its influence and popularity. Other cliques are equally fun, other cliques are equally problem-filled and individuals have the option of joining whichever clique they deem suitable. It has never been okay for one clique to be the boss of every other faction, because that is not what Sunway University College is about. Monopolisation by a clique should be abolished, before certain individuals crack.
