Adapting. Acclimatizing. Shifting. Comfort zone. These are popular terms linked with Change. Minor changes are usually dealt with easily without much ado and kerfuffle, but major changes are the ones that hit people the hardest, usually accompanied with sudden chinks in the operations of their daily activities and emotional fluctuations. Last year, Sanya and Hans conquered the summit of Sunway and crashed back down, leading to the latter undergoing a shocking metamorphosis. Early this year, one major change was John and Nick's swift departure from Sun-U, which put a massive strain on their friendship with Hans, who himself endured an agonising change from being an insider to a completely ostracized outsider. The biggest change to date has to be the hometown division which had engulfed Sunway University College. But as the days pass by, innocuous changes are occuring.
Nick Ivans had made a big change recently. Ousted by the Hometowners, his discontent with the All-Sitiawan Rejects pushed him to force himself back into the group in which he seemingly had no place. Friday afternoon seemed like another normal day when he decided to join Dan and John for lunch, but this time, Hans shocked everyone by joining the Hometowners as well, abandoning his routine of joining the Outsiders. Nick was pleasantly surprised, but Angie Flo and Sue Anne were left rudely stumped, wondering if they were unaware of the certain occurences.
The division had initially caused a major uproar in Hans, but the reality of his struggles with studies was opening his eyes to focus on the important. Ignoring his doctor's health advices, it seems Hans' health was not the only aspect of his life crippling, but his love life-which had been non-existent for a while- was also involved. Rumours sparked from late night chats with Kia Jens had swirled that the duo could get together, but he was met with a slap when he realized she was already taken. And he recieved another blow- losing out to Sanya in the "race" to get attached. He heard the shocking news of her silent 'hook-up' with a stranger he never knew about. Was all her gushing over Mango Mophead a cunning ploy to throw Hans off her trail? Things are definitely turning on its head...
...And getting weirder. The heavy downpour did not deter the joy that had inundated Sue, Angie, and Hans as they geared to enjoy a relatively stress free week by visiting their second home, Sunway Pyramid. With Nick Ivans stuck in class and John Bow heading home with Dan Wise, the trio formulated a plan to add others to their outing, with Javis James and Leo Jon in mind. Sue rued a missed opportunity as Leo rejected, but Angie's heart soared as Javis accepted, bringing along two other friends, one being Leo's best friend. Theo move was welcomed, albiet making Hans tad uneasy. The movie outing turned out well, but for Hans, his evening was disturbed by the fact that Sue's worrying predilection with gore and usage of invectives and pervertic conversations had amplified. Seems the phrase "good girl gone bad" was an understatement.
The outing soon got better, with the barrier of awkwardness slowly stripped after the light dinner the group shared. The fun factor increased as Theo Oscar and Diane Shine, who had a singing "date", and Ash, joined them, but only momentarily, as Javis, Leo's BFF and Angie soon departed. The remaining four, who did not eat, filled their tummies before heading back, prepping themselves for Part One of 'The Boho-Pool Party'. The rain only served to delay the action, as Nick, forgotten friend Leroy, Hans, Sue and Diane hit AC for their routine weekend activity. Shayne joined them, as did a bucket of beer, intoxicating Nick and Sue, while elevating the fun levels. The appearance of Mitch and Ana upped the tempo and excitement factor, and more importantly, signified Part Two of the party.
Dinners at McDonald's after rounds of pool at AC was the norm, with random conversations strewn. But with Mitch and Ana, the norm was usually abnormal, and they completely changed the face of the dinner that night, with straw fights dominating the scene. And after a huge mess left behind, the party of eight trooped off to have the real party, changing the mundane Rock Cafe into a "Truth or Dare" setting, where outrageous dares were performed and matched with sizzling truths. It was a slight change from the normal "Boho" though, with virgin Boho-ers Leroy and Nick present, and given the amount of fun that was present that night, upcoming parties, if planned, look to be smash hits.
After the rocking night, things returned to normal the next day, with Nick heading back for a family issue and Sue and Hans heading to Pyramid for their study sessions. The day culminated with the pair meeting up with Sanya and her friends for a football screening. Little did Hans realise that an extremely friendly guy whom he was endeared to was the same stranger who had captured Sanya's heart. Had he known this fact then, perhaps the situation might have been a little more tense. As for Diane, she enjoyed the luxury of being pampered by her aunt around town and the play production in her church. The same could not be said of Nick though, who was being tortured back at his hometown.
One day to study, one day from the killer Econs test that had everyone involved tripping and head-banging. Nick and John headed back to Sunway, buoyed by news that they could be receiving their respective cars soon. While John went straight back home to prepare himself for the test, Nick shopped with his family before joining Sue and Hans who were studying. The three departed for their different accomodations shortly as the latter resumed his studies before rejoining Nick and Diane for dinner. Studies did not seem to be on Angie's mind, as she was forced to have an informal family gathering, ridding her of precious study time.
A week of upheavel seems to be on the cards, at least for John Bow, with his two driving buddies in their hometowns for a week-long holiday, temporarily dividing the hometowners. A mini shift was made, with John joining Nick and Hans for studies and dinner, although the change would only last for a few days. Another change was Dan's new jet black hair, which yet again caused mixed remarks. One thing that did not change was Sue's non-stop word vomit on certain individuals, and with a new boy thrown in the fray, this time the one having his eye on her, things definitely look set to be shaken up. One thing that remains to be certain is Hans' sudden change in behaviour- if his joyful appearance the past few days was an indication that his emo self was dead and gone, or if it was merely a facade. Hopefully, one thing that could change was the hometown divison, and the silent secrets and lies that had pervaded the college grounds.
